-terrorist official tells the u.s. to focus -- economic targets like banks and stock exchanges. at the same time, developments on the battlefields in afghanistan and pakistan that are linked to the plot, apparently. here are key points. authorities say a german citizen of afghan descent is in custody spelling out the terror plan, like the terror plot in mumbai that killed 164 people two years ago. osama bin laden apparently approved the plan. no word so far if threats were also made against the united states. now, to the war zone in afghanistan and pakistan. nato says an air strike killed a top al qaeda commander in northern afghanistan along its border with pakistan. the u.s. recently increased the number of drone attacks in pakistan, and this may be due in part to information on the terror plot. drone targets in pakistan include taliban and al qaeda forces and militants linked to al qaeda. and the taliban denied claims made by the top u.s. commander in afghanistan, general david petraeus, that the taliban wants, was in contact with afghan government officials about possible peace talks. there'

months ago this week, a top to bottom overhaul of u.s. health care, an overhaul that presidents dating back to teddy roosevelt have contemplated, debated, or attempted. six months ago, it was sign into law by president obama. today as you may have seen live here on cnn, the president talking about provisions of that law that come into force this week. this is the first of that health care bill. it's what the white house calls a patients' bill of rights. he's just about the only democrat who is going to use health and reform in the same sentence because the reason has to do with the calendar. we're 40 days away from the elections where every single house seat and 37 senate seats are up for grabs. voters are split to say the least. 40% of americans favor reform, 56% oppose it. there are some tricks to that poll because the 56% oppose, some oppose because it didn't go far enough. most say it's too liberal, but a sizable chunk says it doesn't go far enough. when we ask which party can handle the issue better, it's a dead heat. all of this forms a backdrop to the president's visit to a fami

out and instead stay on the job. one person tells us she plans to work until she dies. i'll tell what you, this isn't a new phenomenon. take a look at these numbers here. in 1998, 12% of workers over 65 stayed on the job by choice. in 2008, 17% of older workers delayed retirement. now we're at 18%. so we're seeing this number inch up. by 2018, it's forecast that 22% of workers are going to delay their requirement. now not everyone is staying at their current job. some choose to take on new projects. others start a business. one person tells us when he retired he started a small ebay business. then again some other people just decide to change careers. they got the confidence to do that. one mother who retired from the public school system is now a college professor and education consultant. some people have options, t.j., because at this age they're at the height of their careers and not really ready to pack it in and start golfing, gardening and bird watching. they want to reach to new heights in their careers. >> you give some of the reasons there they might want to keep working. ho
